98 Chevy 4x4 issued

I have a 98 Chevy 1500 4x4. Ill leave for work in the
morning start the truck and all the light on my push
button works and will shift to 4 hi 4 lo no issues.
Get to work go on lunch and then it's not working.
Light dont flash and doesn't shift. Later in the day
sometimes it's back to working sometimes not.
Next day same thing working then not. Anyone
know what this may be. I'm very low on income
and don't have funds to guess and check

a lot of times it just the switch but before you change that check all the connections are good and in good condition
