I have 1998 Chevy Silverado lk1500 5.7 litre and if I put in a 5.7 litre engine from a 19o5
Chevy Silverado do I switch computer

1996 saw a big switch in engine management (OBD1 to OBD2) so you will likely need to switch over your 1998 engine intake to the older (1995) engine, in order to keep your current ECM, in other words use the 95 as a core and not a total replacement.

I guess there's a chance in hell that both use the same ECU , if not yes , and the key will need to be programmed for the transponder unless the ignition switch can also be swapped , your experience may differ ,.
