I have a chev scottsdale 1988 I was driving and it just died now will not start. Have tested the starter and the battery both are fine.
Make sure you're fuel pump is working. You can do this by removing the fuel cap, turning the keep and listening for the link to make a whining noise.
Turning the key. Don't try to stay it.
Without removing anything, when it is cold, you should hear the fuel pump run. Have you computers checked. A vehicle that old will have them go out due to age alone. If I remember, those years there was a lot of issues with the computer chips going bad. If the engine turns over, the battery and starter are doing their job. You need air, gas and spark (at the right time) to get an engine to run. My bet will be that it is electrical, not mechanical.
