2017 rear clunking noise when cold, seems to go away after driving s few miles

I have a new 2017 Ford Escape doing the same. No luck with the dealership figuring it out yet. Please post if you find out what is causing the noise. Good luvc

On my Escape, they found the problem / noise coming from the rear shock absorber. After they replaced the shock, it was ok. PS I took the service advisor for a ride and pointed out to him when I heard the noise. The service tech then went for s ride and then isolated it to the shock.

On my escape they finally found it to be that the plastic push pins holding the shields underneath the car had several to fail. They replaced all the plastic push pins with metal rivets and it took care of the noise.

After 6 times to Ford and numerous items replaced, they finally fixed it 100%! It was something internal in the rear shock. They replaced shocks and all is finally well!!!

HAVING SAME PROBLEM, ONLY WHEN COLD.. FORD HAS NOT REPLACED ANY PARTS YET. THEY VERIFIED SOUND, NOT SURE WHERE ITS COMING FROM. SOUNDS LIKE RIGHT REAR STRUT TO ME.

Mine was the PCU power control unit on 4 wheel drive , had to be replaced under warranty

HAD BOTH REAR STRUTS REPLACED... FIXED!!
