Ooops…… didn't mean to hit "BEST ANSWER" A dealer said… it's supposed to be that way. Another person said, "NO IT'S NOT" another one said, something is broke….. all I know is it bugs me when I'm the passenger in that damn vehicle and I'm 3 feet back. It's one of my favorite SUV's…. but this feature is for the birds!! Having deafness in the family, it's not a "deaf-friendly" feature either. The person signing to the driver is sitting too far back and can't be seen…… making it dangerous. Thanks for taking the time FordNut. :)

In the manual there is no information for the passenger seat.
