It at about 2000rpm. The engine wasn't
cold. It stopped doing it after sitting and
reving it up for about 5 min. It was a sound
I've never heard before. Didn't sound like a
belt at all. Any ideas? Btw..my car has
280000 mi on it. BUT, I've taken good care
of it. Had many things replaced and it still

If it does it again pop your hood and locate the issue. Only thing I can think of is the belt. Also, I would not sit there and rev and engine when an odd noise is present for 5 mins.
I did pop the hood and I had to rev the engine to try and figure out where the noise came from because it didn't make it just idiling. Above 2000 rpm's it would stop. I drove it hm after the noise stopped and it ran fine and hasn't been doing it since. I'm sure some things going out but its hard to tell now that the noise has stopped.
