I have a 2000 ford mustang base model 3.8 v6 when I start it up it makes a whining noise from the engine bay I'm not sure what it is and ill keep the wheels straight and still dose it
Check your pulley and bearings that run off the serpentine belt.
Tom has the best answer - otherwise - you could have a bad PS Pump anyway.
If it was the bearings would it smell like something burning its weird because it stoped for a few days and now its back agiab
And could it also be the alternator because it seemed like the smell was coming from it
remove your serpentine belt and start engine to see if noise is gone...spin and check for free play all accessories items...best way to check for a bad bearing or jammed part
Ok thanks ill do that ill post back and let you know how it goes
