My 2007 PT Cruiser with less then 150,000 KM (Canada) has given us no trouble in the 3 years we have owned it. It's my daily driver. However it stalled on me the other day. My son got his code reader and it said it was the cam shaft sensor. Hubby got it home and changed that. No go on starting it. Took it to a garage for a diagnosis. Of course it's the timing belt. Got three quotes from three different garages, including the local Chrysler dealership. All around the same price ($1650 Canadian) I love this car, and want to fix it. Hubby wants to dump it to the wreckers and get me some other piece of crap and then I start over trying to deal with a piece of clunker junk. What I had prior to the PT Cruiser. So in your all opinion, fix it for $1650, or dump it and start over?

PT Cruisers are junk in my opinion. I see them on a regular basis for all kinds of issues. It is your decision but I hope you have extra money for repairs on this cruiser. I would spend for a Toyota. I know you would have a payment, but it will last many years past the payment. I have an 02 model year Toyota that I have had for 13 years now and have had 10 years without a payment and no major engine or transmission issues, just maintenance.
