Throttle body issues? HELP PLEASE

Asked by Jun 22, 2017 at 09:48 AM about the 2002 INFINITI I35 Luxury FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I own a 2002 Infiniti i35 with about 207k
miles on it. About a month ago my battery
had died, jumped it and had no problems
after for about two weeks. I then started it
with no issue, but when I went to step on
the gas I had no acceleration in drive or
reverse. I can rev the engine just fine in
neutral or park, but that's about it. After I
had turned off the car, it will now only start
with a jump, but I have the same issues.
When I went to put my windows up and
lock my doors I realized there was very
very little power going to them as well. The
car barely beeped when I locked it.

After some research I started thinking
maybe the throttle body was the issue, but
with the lack of power in wondering if it is
the throttle body, or if it's maybe a battery
and alternator problem. Or both.
I'm just trying to figure out if the car is
worth fixing, I plan on getting a new car
soon but would like this one to hold out for
just a wee bit longer.

Any help will be great. Thank you❤

Check/replace your battery, then check/replace alternator, I doubt its your throttle body, it sounds like your bat. is not holding a charge.

I also think your have either a filing alternator or some issue there with bad electrical connection or grounds, May be battery terminal bad or loose or corroded and same with the terminal wires. Also check you grounds to frame from battery and engine to frame. Check the circuit breakers under hood and dash to just in-case there is any bad ones. And like d=said above the battery I would have it and the alternator tested.
