tps shifting issues after change

Asked by Apr 02, 2016 at 08:29 PM about the 2000 Ford Focus ZTS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i recently purchases a 2000 ford focus zts. my husband has replaced the
tps several times after each time my car shifts high in 2nd and 3rd gear.
after the first few changes we replaced it with the old one. and it eventually
died on us. we went to the junk yard and got a new throttle body with the
tps already on it he installed it tonight and same issue when it sifts from
2nd and 3rd gear my rpms reach about 3 grand. what can we do to fix this
issue because obviously buying tps from advance auto and auto zone are
not working. i just want it to run smoothly and properly. we have even
disconnected the battery to reset it and still having the issue. its more
annoying than anything.. please help

Maybe it's not a TPS problem, I would suggest that you have the vehicle "live data" scanned a tech can actually in real time what is happening with you car as it is driven down the road. Could be something as simple as a bad sensor ground.
