My 2016 Veloster is losing power. Why?

Asked by sfickbohm Nov 18, 2022 at 12:49 PM about the 2016 Hyundai Veloster SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car seems to run fine most of the time but it will randomly lose power. It
currently has a flashing check Engine light. Went and got the code read at
Auto Zone and it came back as Power Train System( secondary DTCs
P1326: Glow Relay Short Circuit). Wondering if there is anything i can check
out myself before I bring it somewhere else and pay 150 just for the to tell
me what is wrong with it.

What Does the P1326 Hyundai Code Mean? The Knock Sensor Detection System (KSDS) detects vibrations indicating the onset of excessive connecting rod bearing wear. It is designed to alert the driver at an early stage of bearing wear before the occurrence of severe engine damage, including engine failure. Right out of the book.

So, you got codes read and you don't know what to do. What you do is take the car to someone who knows how to fix it: a mechanic..... Your code is specifically for the knock sensor detection of a defective rod bearing issue. This is so prevalent in Hyundai's that they devised a specific code for the issue. The problem you're seeing is the flashing CEL and the car in SAFE MODE; keeping the car from properly accelerating. It's alerting you to the severity of this problem. I suggest you read your owners manual and grow a brain.

Look up if your engine is covered in the engine recall list. Just an odd one your car is gas? Yet is throwing a diesel code...... Pcm issues software?
