2000 Ford Focus zx3 brake/tail lights

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 focus zx3. Brake/turn signal not working. Fuses good, flasher good. Hazard switch
good. Found bare wires in hatch. Going to repair soon but even when the wires aren't
grounded to each other or shorted, I still have no turn or brake lights. Noticed a new
hatch latch and rear windshield wiper motor have been installed and I found a loose wire
that looked like it could have been a flat pin ground at one point in time but it doesn't
have any continuity. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you

"Solved" do not rule out the hazard flasher in the middle of the dash just because the "security" light is flashing. Repaired the frayed and separated wiring in the hatch, still had no brake or turn signal lights. Had another hazard switch from an old car I owned. Went to replace it because I was stumped as to what was wrong. And the connector fell out of the back of the hazard switch when I touched it... Plugged it up (original hazard switch) and there they were. Everything worked great, no problems. "Solved"
