Oil smell

Asked by Apr 27, 2016 at 06:29 AM about the 2004 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 240 Classic Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Under hood seems to be a little wet in a small area, at
base, next the engine on the passenger side.  An
occasional smell of oil when I'm driving/ stop/ Go drive in
the city.  No oil leaks in the driveway.  Thanks for your
expert help.

sounds like one of your gaskets is leaking and the small amount of oil is burning off allowing the smell to enter into the cabin. You will need to pinpoint the area of the leak and replace the correct gasket. Most probably the valve cover gasket, but check to make sure.
