My 2007 Montana van will not work in drive
or third gear but will work in second and
first gear, would any one know what I'm
Have the codes pulled, your looking for any transmission solenoid, park switch or control module failure codes, if there are those listed they need to be repaired for the trans to shift properly, but it could also be a tranny failure if your over 100k miles.
I'm at 119k and Thnx alot for this info Mark, this helps.I'm affaid to ask this, tranny failure means? and could I be looking at alot of money to fix these issues?
Tranny failure will mean that the trans will have to be rebuilt or replaced, and yes it can get expensive. Even if it is a solenoid problem on that transmission, it won't be cheap either.
Thank-you so much my friend
I have a 2006 Pontiac Montana what I went to put it in reverse it would not engage it just stopped all the sudden what could be the problem and it easy fix or do I need to take it to the dealer I had the transmission and filter replaced about 9 months ago but this just happened all son I check the transmission fluid it still clean looks like new can someone please help me
A tranny shop will need to check it out, they can run stand alone testing to find out if it is electrical or if the tranny broke something internally like the reverse band.
