Would anyone buy a 2006 Hyundai Sonata LX with 178,800 miles on it for $3,400 or is the mileage simply too high? Has clean car fax. Looks in good shape, but I realize that we should have a certified independent mechanic check it out as well. For my son (senior in high school).

Hyundai and Kia are sub-par brands. Why do you think they offer 10 year / 100,000 mile warranties on them? Ante up a little more $$ and get a quality Japanese car!

I wouldn't if it was $500.00.
