Need help with new clutch

Asked by May 19, 2016 at 10:49 PM about the 2008 Honda Civic DX-G

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Need help fast. I just replaced my clutch with a new clutch kit. When I went to
go for a test ride my peddle felt a little soft but clutch engaged fine backed
out of the driveway and put it in first it started to grab then I heard a noise like
something let go and bam nothing clutch won't grab at all. I tried bleeding the
slave but still nothing. I suspect that the shifting fork may have come free
from the throw out bearing but not sure if this would cause this problem. Also
something I found strange is that the car acts like it's driving even in neutral if
I press the gas the speedometer reads and numbers go up but I'm not
moving. Never had this happen before and it has me stumped any help would
greatly appreciated thx in advance

Check the axles, make sure they are fully locked into the spiders in the transaxle.

Oh wow man you hit the nail right on the head. Was getting dark when I finished up and was rushing a bit and must not have noticed. Went back out with the spot light and sure enough that's exactly what it was. Clutch works great burning second gear rubber again lol thx a million.

Glad it worked out! After a breakin, it's time to burn rubber!
