rear window wiper

Asked by May 19, 2009 at 11:07 PM about the 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 eddie bauer that the rear wiper does not always work.  Sometimes it will work and other times it will go up about 3 inchs and then back down.  If you pay with the switch it will sometimes work.  I have replaced the wiper motor and it acts the same.  Now were do I go.

You may want to check the wiring going from the wiper moyor through the deck lid hinge where it goes into the body of the vehicle I think you will find frayed wiring where the hinge moves. Other wise its the switch

I also have rear wiper problem, have checked motor all fuses, and relay switches. Received a diagram of a wiring loom showing a rear wiper relay but cannot place where it is. The motor originally jammed with the switch left on, so having checked everything I assume that the relay has burned out

get a scanner and run a test on it but it may be a bad switch
