1994 Honda Civic DX coupe automatic stalls on road or won't crank Please Help

Asked by Nov 12, 2015 at 12:09 AM about the 1994 Honda Civic DX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1994 Honda civic DX coupe automatic. It will randomly just lose all
power and shut off. When you come to a stop and try to restart it the
engine will crank but not turn over. It also will randomly not start after
driving somewhere tuning it off then returning to the car it will crank but not
In the last 3 weeks I have had a valve job (mechanic said the engine had
no compression), new radiator, timing belt, distributor, plugs, main relay
and the ignition switch and relay all replaced. I Drove it  today and stopped
at a store turned it off went in came out and again it cranked but did not
turn over.
I noticed on one of it's shut downs the speedometer started bouncing
just as it was about to shut down randomly. Also it seems to run roughly
and have no power likes it's bogged down up hills just before this happens.
I'd appreciate any help even my mechanic seems stumped on this one
and I'm about to beat the car with a large sledge hammer.
Thanks in advace

Its the sensor, fuse or a short to the fuel pump... If these check out CHANGE THE FUEL PUMP>>>>> I have run into the same problem and I changed the fuel pump and fixed the problem,,,, Also I had a garage another time on purpose put a cloth rag in my gas tank so when it got a little low it acted like it was a bad fuel pump... This same guy wanted to charge me 510.00 to change the scam job... But your problem is fuel... So check all the fuse ,s sensor the change the fuel pump... if its one in the tank make sure you TRUST the last guy..... Good Luck Leaddog
