Asked by Jas1008ta Feb 10, 2014 at 10:23 PM about the 1995 Honda Prelude 2 Dr SE Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 95 5 speed, it idles high around 2500 to 3000 while driving and for about 5-10
seconds after coming to a stop. Then drops down to about 1000rpm. What could be
causing this?

TPS - throttle position sensor or IAC - idle air control valve - Is your check engine light on?

No check engine light, iac is new. It idles normal after it stops moving just while in motion even out of gear.

I would look for a vacuum leak then replace the TPS.
