Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Where is the idle located? How do I tighten it. When I am parked sometimes my car stalls because the idle is at 500. I took it to a mechanic and he lowered it from 1000rpms to 500. Help.

Not sure how he lowered the idle, as it was computer controlled on these vehicles. I would suggest taking it back to him and telling him to replace the idle to the proper setting. Without knowing exactly what he did, it's hard to say how to undo it.

are you sure he didn't just adjust the throttle sensor? Or the air/fuel mix? don't quite know how or why he would've done that!

have you checked for a vacuum leak? with the lowered idle and if you have a vac leak, it might stall. just thought that I'd throw it out there, hope all gets better
