The theft light is blinking on my 2000 ford expedition. How do I get it to start?

I just bought my expedition two days ago and its
drove great and started fine up till now. Its hard to
start sometimes BC the guy I. Bought it from lost
the original key and  had a new one made. I parked
the car for about an hour and tried to start it but it
won't turnover at all. There's juice from the battery
BC the lights and radio work. Also the theft light is
flashing red now. Please help

Sounds like a can of worms. The original key contains a chip that the security system is programmed too, if the replacement key does not have a chip the system won't have anything to reconise and go into shut down mode, if the replacement key has a chip the system will need to be reprogrammed to reconise that key. The big problem is that this can only be done at a Ford dealer, last time I checked it ran about 120 bucks, might be more now.
