Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Change out the head gasket did the valves, timing,
Had a small taping sound. Rechecked everything
again and still had the noise. Went for a test drive
about 10 min in heard a loud bang oil light came on
car came to a stop. after taking a look seeing that
the oil pan now has a hole in it.
What was it?
Is it worth fixing?
Have to have it towed  need to know if I have it
towed home to fix or to the junk yard?
Thank you for any help.

The Piston rod and maybe even the rod and piston came out and is gone or it made the hole and bounced back in the oil pan and is inside the pan. Its happen to me one time the rod came out and hung there, the piston was on the inside of the hole still attached.

Yep definitely threw a rod, and there's no fixing that engine, it now has to be replaced, and a 95 it's not worth a new engine, but it's your car so you decide if you scrap it, keep it and put a used engine in or bite the bullet and put in a new engine.

When they go boom like that it is time for a new engine or a new car.
