Car won't start on half a tank of gas
I have a 95 accord, not only does the
gas only go to half a tank but also gas
gauge fluxuates a lot. Should I buy a
New pump and replace it myself?
Sounds like the gas gauge is not reading correctly. Most likely the sending unit for the gas gauge on the dash is part of the pump assembly module in the gas tank. You can replace it or calculate your mileage between fill ups. HTH. -Jim
Thanks for the feedback Jim. I had remembered that previous owner said that pump was good but installed backwards? And for that reason it wouldn't pump correctly. If I were to go in and install it to the correct fittings would it work?
You're welcome. Glad to help. Absolutely. Doing a job correctly makes all the difference in the world. HTH. -Jim
Not positive about the 95 Accord Fuel pump, but MOST pumps will only fit in ONE way due to the fittings and electrical connectors. It is probably the Fuel Level Sending unit on top of the pump that is bad and should be replaced. You probably are getting a 1/2 tank reading when it is actually Empty.
