Engine Replaced

Asked by Apr 21, 2017 at 05:36 PM about the 2012 Kia Optima LX Plus

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Kia Replaced my Optimas engine recently (and I'm
19 so I didn't need hate on here I'm just trying to
get an answer to fix if I did anything wrong) at
86003 miles because of a RECALL that was it. So I
recently bought an ATV and wanted to get a truck
now, so I'm putting it up for sale, I asked people
and dealers what the car was now valued at and
they said it would be valued at the avg. of both
amounts of mileage, so that price became around
11k, so I posted my car up with 3600 miles which
is what it has now and I put all info in description
including original mileage, what did I do wrong if I
did?

The total miles on the vehicle should be disclosed first. The fact that it has a new(er) engine is definitely a big plus with only 3600 miles on it. But the rest of the vehicle still has just under 90,000 miles on it. So you should definitely mention the new engine and that it was replaced by Kia due to the recall. Otherwise potential buyers will think the vehicle has been abused or neglected. HTH. -Jim
