Broken valve spring

Asked by Apr 22, 2019 at 04:20 PM about the 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 Technology RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can you change the valve spring
without pulling the cam and head off.
2009 4.6

Yes. You need some special tools. Air pressure (from an air compressor) in the cylinder can keep the valve closed while changing the spring. Not an easy task if you have never done such a repair.
