I believe that is warning you that frost may be forming and to look out for icy roads.

On my cars this warning seems to come on around 36 degrees Fahrenheit.

If you look online you can find explanations for most symbols. Some do vary with the manufacturers.

Found it in the manual under “Features of your Vehicle -> Instrument Cluster” In the 2016 Accent manual it’s on page 4- 43. “Icy road warning light (if equipped) This warning light is to warn the driver the road may be icy when: • Ignition ON • Temperature range: approximately below 39. 2°F (4°C). The warning light will blink for 10 seconds and then illuminate. Also the warning chime will sound”

Mine comes on at 39* and there is no way I have to watch for icy roads at 39*. I was searching and found this forum because I was hoping I could change the setting.

The stupidest and most annoying alarm in the car. Especially while driving in heavy traffic on the highway with cars all around

Hey guys do you know if I can deactivate this alarm, since in my area we don’t get icy roads but it activates when it rains or I go through a puddle and shut off the AC and switches it to heat and it’s really dangerous since my windows get all foggy

From the 2020 Elantra Owner's Manual online: https://owners.hyundaiusa.com/content/dam/hyundai/us/myhyundai/glovebox- manual/2020/elentra/2020%20Elantra%20Owner's%20Manual.pdf "Icy Road Warning Light (if equipped) This warning light is to warn the driver the road may be icy. When the temperature on the outside temperature gauge is approximately below 40°F (4°C), the Icy Road Warning Light and Outside Temperature Gauge blinks and then illuminates. Also, the warning chime sounds 1 time. You can activate or deactivate Icy Road Warning function from the User Settings mode in the cluster LCD display (if equipped with supervision cluster)." So apparently they are responding to the issue.

Thanks for all this info. I am not a mechanic, but my 2017 does this too. It’s really cold outside, but no icy roads. But a nice little could be warning. Any body know why nobody can get the check engine light off? Had everything fixed front to back, engine and all. Up to date check ups too. Even the dealership couldn’t get it off. I tried the old unplug the battery and wait as well. It was not on there before, and I just don’t get it?

You need to get all your codes cleared. If u have had everything fixed and have driven it through at least 25cycles and it hasn't turned off. Then it needs to be connected to a diagnostic device and see what codes are still showing. If the codes that show have been dealt with then they need to be cleared. If the check engine light returns after driving through a few cycles then the issue/issues that correlates to the codes that came up prior to clearing need to be addressed again. Hook it back up to a dx device and make sure no new codes are listed.
