On my 2000 Ford escort zx2 keeps splitting belt

I assume that you are talking about the serpentine belt. I would be looking for some foreign material in or on one for the pulleys or idlers first, if nothing is found there then check clearances around the belt area, ther may be something that is out of line ie a clamp, lose bolts, stuff like that.
