1999 Honda passport 4x4 makes a clunking noise on drivers side front wheel. But when I look I'm not seeing anything that points to a problem. What could be the problem..

Possibly a bad wheel bearing but it could be a loose or broken shock or other suspension problem. I would have a mechanic put it up on a rack to inspect it.
