99 honda accord overheating

Asked by Oct 23, 2016 at 08:47 PM about the 1999 Honda Accord EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 99 honda accord ex manual transmission.
It keeps over heating.  I'll fill it with water and it will
be fine for a day or so then it will start overheating
and I fill it again.  No visible leaks. And running the
heat makes it over heat faster.

If it was low it has air in the cooling system .there is a bleeder valve just off the thermostat housing .it must be opened when you initially fill radiator with coolant to let trapped air out . There are many You Tube videos you can watch to see how and where ,.you should also check the cooling fans ,Hondas have issues with the cooling fan switches losing ground or going bad altogether aND that causes the cooling fan not to operate as it should ,when that happens the car will run a bit hot build enough pressure to expelled coolant into the overflow bottle .it'll seem like it's leaking but it's not really
