How to keep oil change reiminder light settings when disconnecting battery on Honda Accord V6 - 2000??

I had to disc battery for low beam change Drives side in Honda Accord V6 - 2000. What
happened now to the reimender light for Oil change that comes on after 7,500 Miles? Did
I Loose the settings for the correct mileage?

Yep, that and all of your radio presets, clock, and ECM memory, so it might run a little weird until the ECM finishes the relearn cycle, usually takes about 20 miles of everyday type driving for a complete relearn. There is a little device that's called a memory saver, it uses a 9 volt battery and plugs into the lighter or now days they call it a power port, most parts stores have it or can get it overnight.


If I unterstand correctly, after some 20 miles the correct miles until next oil change will still be saved? What is ECM and next releam cycle. Sorry if this is a dumm question. Thanks


No that is gone, you will have to keep track of mileage yourself, then it will be reset on your next oil change. Your ECM learns your vehicle and how you drive it, it can learn the basic settings in 20 miles, so if anything is still wrong it can turn a check engine light on and be accurate with the codes.
