I think I may have just found my problem but have no clue what the part's called. It's a Vulcan engine that is Flex fuel. It's the little 90 degree black hose on the left side of the intake manifold.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car stalls when idling, revs funny, kind of juts forward when I take my foot off the brake and it gets bad gas
mileage (I think for what it says on the review of my car)

It's one of the vacuum hoses, and it will cause you to suck in unmetered air, and you will get a check engine light. Replace the damaged hose and you should be good to go. If the hose is still good and just got loose, purchase a small hose clamp to secure it tighter.

If you need to replace, remove the hose and take it to your local ford parts counter for a replacement,, or your local auto parts store and maybe you can fab something up.

This isn't an answer but this is a picture of what I am trying to find out to fix.

I dont know what that hose is but sounds like either vacuum leak or bad TPS.

The part that is stuck into the engine is the PCV, so your looking at replacing the other end of the hose that attaches to the intake. It looks dry rotted and has some "suck" in. Try your local autozone and look for a replacement DORMAN Part # 46035 Also replace the PCV valve while you have it apart. MOTORCRAFT Part # EV228B or go to your local ford parts counter and order the part. Take the piece with you to help them get the right one.

Late response but it was the PCV valve elbow :)

I have an 02 taurus with the same symptoms.Checked this piece and it has some visible cracks on the outside. Crossing my fingers that this is the problem!
