The car needs to be inspected as it sounds like it's having serious issues. A glowing red-hot manifold means you are running way too rich - fuel is being spent in the exhaust and burning there instead of in the combustion chamber like it should be. Why it is running rich needs to be diagnosed. The O2 sensors could be bad, or the catalytic converter, or both (as well as several other potential problems). At the very least have the car's on-board diagnostics scanned for trouble codes (can be done for free at most auto parts stores). These codes will give some clue as to what problems exist.

Manifold bright red indicated unburnt fuel getting into the exhaust. Check engine light on? Have a local mechanic check the car out for a leaky injector or a cylinder misfire.

Have them check your catalytic converter, it may be clogged.
