My daughters car, manifold was bright red and
smells like burnt her RPMs idol by themselves
doesn't stay started what could be wrong with this
and how are how much is it?

The car needs to be inspected as it sounds like it's having serious issues. A glowing red-hot manifold means you are running way too rich - fuel is being spent in the exhaust and burning there instead of in the combustion chamber like it should be. Why it is running rich needs to be diagnosed. The O2 sensors could be bad, or the catalytic converter, or both (as well as several other potential problems). At the very least have the car's on-board diagnostics scanned for trouble codes (can be done for free at most auto parts stores). These codes will give some clue as to what problems exist.
