my 01 taurus sucks up gas no power wants to die

i start my car its acts like it wants to die sometimes it does.it sucks up a qaurter or more of gas daily only going a total of five miles or less.no power at all.

When was the last time you changed the filters, plugs, oil change? Cleaned the throttle body, MAF, EGR of carbon? CEL light on? If so scan for codes, maybe you have a vacuum leak.
