Asked by Jul 30, 2016 at 01:17 PM about the 2001 Ford Ranger 2 Dr XLT Standard Cab Stepside SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Check engine light came on and I did a scan on my 2001 2.3L 4 cyl Ford
Ranger.  The scanner states Intake manifold Runner Control Bank 1 Stuck
Closed.  What would I need to do to rememdy this problem?  I had a brand
new intake manifold put on two years ago.

There is a servo on the intake manifold that opens when the engine demands increase, if it came unplugged or the servo is bad you will get that code. see pic.

You should also check the movement of the door on the runner body also, if it is jammed it will ruin the servo.
