ok my tags are about to expire now in a few months so when i hook up my high end code reader to my car it says no connection. I check all my fuses and the only ones no working are for the lights like high/low beam stuff like that could this really no make my pcm no respond to my code reader. If not what else do i need to check?

do you have the ignition in the on position when its hooked up?
