thick white smoke, no signs of head gasket. idle also
i have a 95 civic ex with the d16z6. i bought
it from a buddy because it wasnt running
and u have the.skills to fix it. when i bought
it the cam gear sheared the woodruff key
and it came off whule running. i replaced
the cam gear. it used ti byrn oil bad so i
replaced the valve seals. after i got it
together i then hadbancoolant leak, turned
out to be a craxked hose. replaces that.
then i got an idle proble of it surging from
800-1800rpm. figured that was the iacv.bi
bought a.uses one replaced it and still has
the issue. i have a vouple ideas what it may
be but unsure. coolant is full.and bled. my
biggest issue is that it is blowing ouf so
much white smoke i can fog the whole
neighborhood. i replaced the o2 sensor and
that didn't help. it doesnt smell sweet, but
almost like a go kart. im at a loss trying to
figure this out.no milky oil ir indication of a
head gasket that i can physically see. i need
some help on this
coolant green hue on the plugs perhaps? water enters the combustion chamber and turns to steam. Maybe a head cracker ? find what cylinder. boroscope might be something you can get from a parts store to use and save a teardown. gotta be eating coolant. that will eventually be bad for the new sensor. let it sit with pressure and the plugs out then crank it and see what hole. or just go by inspection. removing the head can help inspect the crack between the valves or the failed gasket. When you start having problems with these little rice grinders you might price a crate engine unless you like engine work.
in the event it is losing oil past the rings instead you would have the clouds but it would stink and hang in the air. still might not be blue, if it was happening fast enough. Had a 1.5 toyo like that once. it ate all its oil in a 10 mile trip twice cause the guy did not know how to hone cylinders. It went to the happy clunking ground.
