Rolls forward when parked and in gear.
95 Honda civic, manual transmission. In gear, parked on an incline, engine off. It rolls
forward an inch at a time 20 seconds apart. What is going on?
You are only using engine compression to hold the car in place, not a good idea, when parking on an incline you turn into the curb if facing downhill, if facing uphill turn wheels away from the curb and set the park brake.
Of course. This is not the issue here. This is happening on small degree inclines like when diagonal parking on a street or in my driveway. The E brake will stop this from happening, but being in gear, should be enough to hold a car in place on very slight inclines.
What gear are you putting it in when you park? i hope it is not first, it should be third gear or higher.
