That engine has a 9.5 to 1 compression ratio so premium is recommended but not required, that came right from the specs in the owners manual, so if you haven't sat down and read your owners manual now would be a good time to do so, there is a lot of information in that little book. Now in the real world it is going to take some experimenting on your part to find out what works best for you and the way you drive, so run regular fuel for about 3 tanks and closely monitor the mileage per tank, then try mid grade then premium and pick the one that gives you the best and stick with it and don't jump around fueling stations pick a brand that uses top tier fuel and stay there. I highly recommend Chevron or Texaco fuels.

Everyone should read their owners manual!!! First thing they should do when they purchase a product. Must be a reason they make them !!! LOL.
