Shifter is stuck in park

My Lincoln did that, There is a safety switch under brake pedal that will need service. Try this - keep feet on brake, put key in and turn to the run position, second notch. shift into neutral, then start can and see if shift to drive gear. Your can may not have brake lights to so be careful. go right to service shop.
