I Replaced the Frnt and Rear Main Bearing gaskets on my 2005 Honda Pilot LX. Why do I hear a whining sound coming from my transmission after reassembly?
I am going to assume this is an automatic tranny. So check the fluid level, it is possible there was some fluid loss during the R&R. Do you know if the torque converter was removed during the repair?
All of the oil was replaced.
I can only assume that if the torque converter has to be removed when replacing the gaskets, then yes. If it does not have to be converter requires removal, then I would assume the answer is no. All of the fluid was replaced so I wonder if type or quantity could be the cause for the whining sound which seems to be getting louder as I write.
I just had a horrible thought, if they did remove the converter accidentally and didn't put it back in correctly it could have damaged the front pump, just speculating about this but it is possible, but check the fluid first before going further.
