I have a 01 Plymouth Neon 5 speed transmission does not go into reverse but the car drives how long can I drive it like that is gone it does not go in reverse but it drives

01 Plymouth Neon transmission is
blown it does not go into reverse
but it goes into all other 4 gears
how long can I drive that car like
that please help

There is no way to know how long you can drive it that way. Sooner or later you will have to back up. Have a transmission shop look at it.


If the reverse gear has metal shavings in there it will slowly eat away at the other gears so you can either drive it like it is for a few month and then by a whole new transmission or fix it now.
