How can I get the dash computer to report accurate gas volume after fill up?

Asked by Aug 19, 2016 at 03:24 PM about the 2016 Subaru Forester 2.0XT Premium

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2016 forester has 5000 mi and up until my last 2 fill ups it reported the
accurate gas volume 390 miles. The dealer told me it is normal. Why did it
work correctly for the first 5000mi? They told there were no error codes or
software updates. Could it be a bad sensor in the tank?

Sounds like the dealer is trying to duck out on a warranty repair!! Some dealers absolutely hate warranty repairs!! I'd discuss it again with the service manager. Then, if you still get nowhere, call Subaru's Customer Service department. Their number should be in the back of your owner's manual or Subaru's website. HTH. -Jim
