Ford Fiesta Push Button Start

Asked by JimmyMCFC Oct 24, 2019 at 08:09 AM about the 2016 Ford Fiesta Titanium Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I see that this is an old thread but here goes anyway, i have a 2016 Ford
Fiesta Titanium with the push button start, and we are experiencing
intermittent no starts. The car resides in MS however we bought it and live in
TX. So i took it to the dealership here in TX they told me after about four
days that it was some electronic module and gave it a three letter term and
that it would be around $1100 -$1200 to fix, i reluctantly agreed but non the
less agreed. So i keep calling and it takes almost two weeks before they first
tell me to come and get it, on the way to pick it up they state it did it again
would not start. They tried several things and i was not convinced they had
fixed it when i eventually picked it up and paid the money. Took it back to MS
and low and behold it did it again, since that time they have changed out the
starter and the starter relay and still it has the same issue. Ford have been
involved and had them check all the connectors and the frequencies and still
here i am after a total of almost four weeks in the shop with no answers. The
communication is poor i have to chase all the time for updates i am a $1000
into it and still no resolution. Probably the last Ford i buy

I was told it just needs an update on the computer. I'm having the same issue but I can't update my car with a USB and the download. And I don't have 180 bucks to pay for ford to do the update. Does or did your car have the wrench light on when you couldn't start it then the wrench went away and you could start it ?? That's what mine is doing. And it's getting worse now.
