Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2016 Ford Explorer Limited.  Every once in a while the following
happens:
- Turn over, won't start.
- I pull fuel pump fuse.
- Attempt to start, turns over, burns fuel in cylinders?
- Replace fuse, starts with not issue.

At this point it might run find for a few months or more.  But inevitably the
issue comes back.

I replace spark plugs and we try put in good fuel.

Any ideas?

The fuel pump should come on for a few seconds when the key is turned to the on position to build up pressure. First thing I would do is check voltage is getting to the pump when the condition arises.

Interesting. Would that apply to vehicles with a push button start?

There are a few videos produced by Ford explaining the push to start accessory and what to do if you run into problems. Try there.

I am having the exact same problem. Pull the fuse, starts, then put it back in and drive all day off and on. Sets overnight, gotta pull it again. @Steve, what did you end up doing to fix it?
