truck starts but wont stay running

truck starts but wont stay running and battery burns out had to replace battery
two times found wires corrioed on a relay replaced with new one still burning
up battery

If you are saying what I think, battery over charging witch continuous will burn out a battery so to speak. The voltage regulator is what controls the draw on the alternator, if bad the alternator could charge full amperage rating. I can't remember if the regulator is in the alternator or separate on yours. If there is a amp gage in your dash it will show charging over 14.5 volts.

1979 Ford 16 ft Box truck 460 motor looses pressure and cut off when going up a hill. It has a 460 motor...very strong. I set on the side of the road and 10 minutes later it drives fine once the pressure builds up. 2 answers
It is a 1979 16 foot box truck. It is like it does not get any gas. I changed the fuel pump. The same thing happens.
