2015 Ford Edge Engine/Transmission Problem? Help pls

Asked by Apr 29, 2017 at 09:31 PM about the 2015 Ford Edge Sport AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently purchased a used 2015 Ford Edge Sport
with the 2.7L Ecoboost and 20,000 miles. From the
2nd day I owned it I noticed that the car would shift
down at highway speeds (typically) and cause a
heavy drag sensation for a moment. At first I
thought this was just a case of bad shifting points
until the problem progressed.

Last night I had just entered the interstate after
accelerating to 75. Shortly after attempting to pass
someone, I released my foot from the gas and
immediately noticed that same downshifting
problem but a much stronger drag feel and the
engine (I think) began to shudder along with it. No
warning lights turned on, and I ran a vehicle health
report immediately only to have it read clean. This
happened another 2 times before I got it towed. But
get this, I took the vehicle to the dealership I
purchased it at and they couldn't recreate the
problem, not even the downshift I experience every
day.

I ve searched around the web and have read that
the 2.7L ecoboost's CAC can create too much
condensation and cause the engine to misfire giving
that shudder feel, but most of this only occurred at
lower speeds for them and was typically seen in F-
150s.

Any help diagnosing this problem and advice for
fixing such would be a huge help, thank you

I have had my 1025 Edge (21,600 miles) in twice for problems with the transmission - at low speed in traffic, while coasting, it feels like it goes out of gear and then, when I start to accelerate, it bangs into gear. And, if I'm at a stop and accelerate quickly then let off the gas, the engine revs and, after about three or four seconds, starts to "slip" back into gear. Dealership says they cannot find anything abnormal. But they said the same thing about my brakes - grab at low speeds. Couldn't duplicate the problem... But a Technical Bulletin lists this issue, so they finally replaced the booster. I believe these transmission problems are due to a programming issue, and they won't acknowledge it. So, watch technical bulletins. I believe there are over 30 so far...

Has anyone had a problem with the 2015 edge popping out of park into reverse??????

Rogue_2106 my neighbor’s Edge did just that yesterday, rolled down his driveway and into the side of my house. Lots of damage, we are still shaking our heads and wondering what happened... Fiddlegal (Nancy) Hot Springs Village AR
