My car makes a clicking sound

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving in the car today.. I parked and went
into a store.. my girlfriend was listening to the
radio at the time.. when I came out she proceeded
to tell me that the radio shut off and the car
started. Making a clicking noise.. the clicking noise
sounds like its coming from the fuse panel.. when
u open the car door or close it. Or even try to start
it.. the interior lights start flickering and u can hear
the clicking. Sounds like ur hazards are on when it
clicks.. then when I try to start it.. the car clicks no
crank.. like its a dead battery.. not sure what the
flickering and the clicking mean.. any
suggestions?. Plz help.

Sounds like a dead battery to me. Charge it and clean the battery terminates and cable ends, but if the battery is over 4 years old then it is almost certainly time for a new battery.

What he said. Your girlfriend ran your battery down to the point that it did not have enough juice left to start the car. Not her fault, but that probably did the deed.

Thanks guys but it was the battery.. the battery is apparently 2 years old.. June 2013.. but I only had the car a year..i thought it might of been the battery.. except the flickering of the lights and the clicking sound coming from the fuse box. Threw me off.. never experienced all that before when a battery is dead.. new to me but I will remember this.. now I just got to figure out why I keep blowing my shift interlock fuse..
