can new Opel engine be fitted in chevy impala 1964? is this even a good idea

Asked by Mar 23, 2016 at 10:42 AM about the 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS

Question type: Car Customization

Im thinking if it makes any sense to put more economic engine in Chevy Impala 1964 body, it would need apropriate transmition, and other things customise for that purpuse. Is that even an option for resonable investment?
Id like to have that 1960 look of a car but with "normal" EU usual engine?

What's wrong with the way it is? That is a prime example of old school American Iron, be proud of your classic, don't try to modernize it.

The amount of money you would spend getting it set in there with special mounts, the electronics, and other miscellaneous stuff that comes along with doing this, it would be easier and more cost effective to put back in the stock engine, if a stock is not available you could put in a 350 chevy engine with a turbo 350 trans without too much trouble.
