I have a 2015 Ram Sport Reg Cab with all options. Why would Ram use the arrow indicator for the temp control instead of the digital temp read out? I find that kind of cheap especially with a truck with every other option. I had a 2012 Ram, same style that had the digital.ThanksKen
I have a 2015 Ram Sport Reg Cab 1500 with all the options. Why would they put the
climate temp control as an arrow indicator from red to blue instead of the digital read out
temperature? My 2012 Ram, same model, had the digital. I find that kind of cheap
considering the truck has all options.
I can think of two reasons. First, for people who can't read. Back in the '80s car manufacturers were required to put symbols instead of words on the dash for things like the wiper switch, radio, etc. This is why you see a picture of a battery instead of the word "Gen" or "Alt" for the alternator warning light. Second, the United States is the only country in the world that does not use the metric system. By using arrows vehicles can be shipped worldwide and use the same display on the dash. There's no need to make 2 different displays or provide a button to switch the display from English to Metric or vice versa. HTH. - Jim
