Display Screen is black

Asked by GuruRBCPB Feb 06, 2020 at 10:25 PM about the 2015 Honda CR-V EX AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I mistakenly left the key turned onovernight in my 2015 Honda CRV. The
battery is fully recharged. I got the radio working, but the display screen is
black. I have done everything I can find on line to get the screen to work
again, but no luck. I cannot find fuse 29 to see if it needs replaced. I know
where the fuse box is, but can't determine how to find that particular fuse.
Can someone help?

I had the same problem. All I did was to change the (10) fuse from 29 in the fuse box under the hood.

I found a solution for mine. The screen was black after someone left the battery drain. The radio and cd player worked, but nothing on the screen. I removed the 2 fuses labeled "backup" and "ECU." I kept them out for 10 minutes, which it apparently needs the time to reset. Then place the 2 fuses back into their respective positions and restart the vehicle. Before this, I tried replacing the fuses, holding in the power button to the radio, but neither of those worked for my vehicle. This process is used to reset the ECU (Engine Control Unit).

I had this problem when a battery change went fubar by AutoZone. They installed it backwards and blew the main fuse along with the power amp fuse. I removed the Backup and ECU fuses for 10 minutes. Reinstalled and got the window back. Replaced the 20 amp fuse and now the stereo is working as well. Should have replaced the battery myself.

Replacing the #29 fuse on our 2015 crv cured tge blank inf screen, door locks ,trunk release and the key remote, a 10 amp fuse, all happened when we jumped the battery and replaced the battery, don’t know what blew the fuse but all is good now. Thanks, couldn’t have done it with out you.. saved me going to the dealership at $156. An hour.

if the hold in power button trick doesn't work, remove the negative cable from the battery. when the car is restarted you will get many alarms on the dash go for a ride around the block and alarms will disappear. screen should now be ok and no settings lost

Just pulling the #29 fuse and putting it back in, brought the screen back but now I have an 'enter code' message.

well, after 3 days of trying all these fixes, I noticed the white button left side of the steering wheel lower dash with the white dot. Pushed it. All fixed.

Took my fuses out and that didn't work. So I pressed the top menu button on the steering wheel and it was merely a setting. My car is a 2013 Honda CR-V. Hope this helps.
